DESCRIPTION:Thurs 27th Feb.  8pm Admission €25\nTara Breen & friends;\nSean & Aisling Lyons with Dermot Sheedy\nBOOK HERE >>\n  \nTara Breen \nTara Breen\, a highly talented multi-instrumentalist from Ruan Co. Clare\, has achieved All-Ireland titles on fiddle in every age category over the years\, culminating with the All-Ireland Senior Fiddle Title in 2012. Tara is also an All-Ireland winner on the flute and saxophone. Tara has won 11 solo All Ireland Fleadh titles and 10 group All Ireland Fleadh titles. In 2011\, Tara was chosen to play at Dublin Castle for the Queen of England during her State visit to Ireland.\nTara studied music and Irish in University College Cork and received an honour in BAMus and Bmus. \nTara was selected by Donal Lunny for the T.V. series\, ‘Lorg Lunny’\, which culminated in the band Ciorras. Ciorras recorded their debut album entitles ‘Ciorras’ in 2010. In 2014\, Tara recorded an album with Conor Moriarty and Stephen Rooney\, titled The Trí Tones who were rewarded the title of Album of The Year from Tradconnect.\nIn 2014\, she joined six-time Grammy award winning band\, The Chieftains for their North American tour\, and currently plays with them at various venues both at home and abroad. Tara joined the legendary band\, Stockton’s Wing in 2015\, whom she still regularly tours with.  Tara joined Heartbeat of Home in 2018 and toured China and Germany for 6 months\, finishing with a 6 week run in The West End. \nIn 2019\, Tara recorded an album with Padraig Rynne\, Conor Crimmins and Elaine Hogan entitled Avalla. Tara has taught fiddle for the last 12 years and is currently employed with Music Generation. \nTara has collaborated with Pádraig Rynne and Jim Murray on two acclaimed albums\, Nasc (2021) and Odyssey (2024). Together\, they continue to tour regularly\, bringing their dynamic performances worldwide. Tara has just released her highly anticipated debut solo fiddle album\, Sooner or Later.

DESCRIPTION:Local Corofin Fiddle Player to Release Debut Album \nSunday the 3rd of March at 3pm in Teach Ceoil Corofin will see the launch of “Chance Encounters\, Last minute notions”\, the debut album by local musician David Sanders. This release is part of The Corofin Tradfest\, 2024. \nDavid has been playing the fiddle for over forty years having been inspired and encouraged along the way by the likes of Gus Tierney and Tony Linnane. He has spent his life involved in sessions all over county Clare and is currently a member of Shaskeen. \nThe album contains a wide variety of diverse influences which reflect David’s interest in music\, from traditional reels and jigs to American waltzes etc.. \n\nThe launch will comprise of a short interview with Eoin O’Neill followed by the official launch by special guest Jack Talty. \nThere will then be a performance of tunes and songs from the album by a host of musicians including the one and only Katie Theasby. \nAdmission is free and we look forward to seeing you all there – It promises to be a great evening – not to be missed – See you there

DESCRIPTION:Sat 2nd March \n3pm Teach Ceoil \nCD launch by the O’Loughlin family \nThe O’Loughlin’s are a family of musicians from Corofin\, Co. Clare. Consisting of Martina on accordion\, Brian on flute\, Keith on banjo and Conor on the concertina\, their music is steeped in the\ntraditions of North Clare\, while also displaying the influences of their various collaborations with musicians from around the globe. They have been involved in a variety of projects\, including with the\nShandrum Céilí Band and the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland. They have travelled to play in North America\, Europe\, Africa and Asia\, and perform and teach regularly at festivals all around Ireland. \nThey are joined on this recording by three of the finest accompanists on the traditional music scene today: Padraic O’Reilly on piano\, John Moloney on bodhrán and Marty Barry on guitar.

DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 28th February 8pm Teach Ceoil – Lifetime Achievement Award Presentation to Noel O’Donoghue\, Kilfenora. Free admission. \nNoel is a flute player from Kilfenora. He learned his music from the many great musicians of the older generation\, including Doolin’s Micho Russell. Noel has been a cornerstone of traditional music in Co. Clare for the past 30 years and some his regular sessions are among the most famous in the County\, such as the Sunday evenings in Gus O’Connor’s Pub. He was a founder member on the beloved band “Moher” with fiddler Michael Queally among others and we are delighted to see these wonderful Clare musicians reuniting for this concert series.
